As you uncouple the things and stuff in your divorce, finances are likely top of mind as you begin looking forward. I wish my clients would spend more time asking questions about post-divorce healthcare coverage — and here’s why.
In today’s episode of Your Money Minute with Tracy Stewart, CPA, I want to talk about why you need to be thinking about post-divorce healthcare coverage. My hope and desire for all of my clients is that they’ll never go a single day without coverage — it’s that important.
You never know when something is going to happen. Medical emergencies happen at the most unlikely times — and even a minor inconvenience can impact your finances. It’s why I believe you should be asking yourself questions about the kind of coverage you’d like after your divorce.
Are you currently receiving coverage through your spouse? If so, do you want similar coverage? Maybe better? What do you need in your coverage? What is important to you as you pick a policy?
Ultimately, I want my clients to ask questions that help them get their arms around their healthcare needs. Your health and finances are deeply connected — and I want you to have have stability for both.
Financial independence is unbelievably liberating. Making sure your medical needs can be met is the easiest way to protect your financial future.
