A player is only as good as the team backing them up, and I think you could say the same of someone going through divorce. If you’re not taking advantage of your divorce team, you could be missing out — and here’s how.
In today’s episode of Your Money Minute with Tracy Stewart, CPA, I want to talk about the resources you have available as you go through your divorce. There are skilled professionals who understand the nuances and complexities involved with the divorce process and those going through a divorce — and they can be a game changer to help get you standing on solid ground as you enter your new normal.
I wish my clients would ask me more often about other resources they can take advantage of to get the kind of outcome they’d like from their divorce. Sure, I’m always going to suggest resources when the opportunity presents itself — but clients don’t always talk about the difficulties they’re experience or the kind of support they wish they had.
In a collaborative divorce, you’ll have a collaboratively-trained attorney, a neutral communications coach or child specialist, as well as a neutral financial professional (hey, that’s me!) But you could also opt to work with other highly-qualified, incredibly resourceful professionals such as a financial professional well-versed in forensic accounting or a private therapist.
Financial independence is unbelievably liberating. Having the right resources at your side will give you the peace of mind that you’re doing everything you can for your future in your divorce.
