Getting older means a trip to the doctor or dentist is often accompanied by a bit more poking and prodding… Who wants that, right? So would avoiding the doctor and other healthcare providers help you save money?
In today’s episode of Your Money Minute with Tracy Stewart, CPA, I want to talk about why preventative healthcare will help you save money. A trip to your doctor isn’t always convenient or comfortable – but it is critical. Did you know that 7 out of 10 people who die of a chronic health disease could have likely avoided the illness altogether with good, preventative care?
The bad advice you’ll run into is that dodging the doctor or ditching your dentist will help you save big bucks in the long run. Seems logical – but it’s highly untrue. An annual visit doesn’t cost as much as major surgery or ongoing care for a chronic disease that could have been spotted much sooner if you’d just visited your healthcare providers.
So my advice is this: Pick up the phone, schedule your annual visit with a doctor, dentist and ophthalmologist to give you peace of mind about your health – and save money by staying ahead of your health needs.
Financial independence is unbelievably liberating. Seeking out good advice on money matters is important – and it will help you build long-term financial security well into your future.
