You may notice when you’re bored, you tend to spend more money. So if boredom leads to a sad bank account — how do you stay active and keep your mind engaged?
In today’s episode of Your Money Minute with Tracy Stewart, CPA, I want to talk about how to save money by staying active and mentally engaged. Idle hands and idle minds tend to spend when they shouldn’t. Have you ever found that when you’re more mentally stimulated, you feel sharper, more engaged and more focused? It’s true, keeping yourself busy is fulfilling — and will help you avoid spending money senselessly.
my suggestion is to take up a hobby, find a book club, get involved with a community group, volunteer… The possibilities are nearly endless — and the value to your life and bank account can’t be overstated.
Financial independence is unbelievably liberating. Make every dollar count when you keep your mind engaged — and avoid spending your money out of boredom.
